Your Child's Safety
We understand that you
may have concerns about infection control procedures which we use
or other safety issues in our office.
Our rigorous sterilization and infection control procedures are
consistently applied and conform to the stringent recommendations
of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia and the
Canadian Dental Association. We use clean and new disposable masks
and latex gloves for each patient. Non-latex gloves are available
if your child has an allergy to latex. All of our dental units are
outfitted with a clean water system. We use a scientifically proven
micro-filtration system to proved filtered, disinfected water
during our treatment procedures. Our infection control procedures
are routinely tested to ensure your child’s safety.
The exposure of children to radiation during the taking of
dental radiographs is also a matter of concern for parents and our
office staff. Our policy is to determine the need for dental x-rays
on an individual basis and then to take the minimum number of
x-rays possible consistent with providing the best quality of
dental care.
To develop the safest yet most effective course of treatment for
each child, our office ensures that other health care workers who
are familiar with your child’s medical, social psychological or
developmental histories are consulted, with your permission, before
or during the delivery of dental treatment.
