About Your Dental Insurance Policy
We are
pleased that you have selected our office to provide dental care
for your child. We will always provide you with our best. Dr.
Milnes or Dr. Farquhar will examine your child and diagnose the
condition of your child’s mouth to determine his/her treatment
needs. A treatment plan will be developed and discussed in
detail with you before any treatment is scheduled or
provided. Wherever possible we will discuss treatment
alternatives with you. Our goal is to provide treatment that meets
your child’s needs. Our staff will prepare a financial estimate
based on the treatment plan we discuss with you.
Occasionally, parents are
not sure what coverage their insurance plan offers to them. Our
administrative staff do not know what your specific plan covers. We
encourage you to learn more about your insurance coverage. Consult
your plan's guide or call your insurance company
directly.
This page
contains information that will help you understand your benefits as
they relate to your child’s treatment.
Dental
benefits are changing. Some insurers are reducing coverage to limit
their liability to you.
Insurance
companies do not inform our office of changes in your
policy.
Benefit coverage is
a contract between yourself, the insurance company and your
employer.
You
are responsible for paying your dental bill for treatment provided
by our office.
Your
insurance plan will reimburse you based on your policy.
Dental
benefits usually do not cover 100% of your dental
costs.
Coverage,
in some cases, is being reduced drastically by insurance companies
as a cost cutting measure. Unfortunately, this may mean that
necessary treatments are no longer covered by your
plan.
Some
companies offer 100% coverage based on old and
out-of-date fee schedules. We operate in the present
which means we must charge current and up-to-date
fees.
Our fees
are based on our specialty training in pediatric dentistry,
knowledge, clinical expertise, quality of care and
materials.
We will
always prepare a pre-determination for you which will allow your
insurance company to confirm your coverage and provide an estimate
of benefits to which you are entitled. If you have any questions
about your pre-determination or payments you think you should have
received from your insurance company call them directly to discuss
your concerns.
