Dentistry for Infants, Children and Teens.  Welcome to Our Office Website!

Dr. Alan R. Milnes is a certified specialist in Pediatric Dentistry. Children of all ages are our specialty. Our office is located in Orchard Plaza in Suite 101, 1890 Cooper Road, Kelowna, British Columbia.  Orchard Park Shopping Mall is directly across Cooper Road from our building.

We strive to provide a receptive and sensitive environment in which we can offer effective, predictable and successful treatment for your child. Our primary goal is to create a positive experience for your child and for you.

We believe that parents are important partners in helping us to provide the best treatment for your children. We strongly encourage you, the parent, to be involved at all stages of your child’s dental treatment.

We invite you to ask questions. The more you know, the better able you will be to decide which treatment is best for you child.

Our office is dedicated to improving and maintaining the oral health of infants, children and adolescents, including those with special needs.

My staff and I can provide both primary and comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence. We have advanced education, training and skills to also provide these services to children with special health care or emotional needs.

Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist for Your Child?

Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. Pediatric dentists have three years of advanced, specialty training (residency training) which is obtained AFTER they have become family or general dentists. This advanced training and education is specific to children and adolescents including their physical, emotional and psychological development. Dental problems of children differ in many ways from the dental problems of adults. The way in which a child reacts to the dental environment and dental treatment differs significantly from adults. Because of our advanced training, pediatric dentists are THE experts in diagnosing and treating your child's dental problems.  Pediatric dentists provide primary care to children such as regular check-ups and preventive visits. As well, our advanced training and education has prepared us well to provide specialty oral care including all forms of sedation services to manage anxiety and significant hospital training and experience for those infants, children and adolescents with special health needs who require care in hospital.
